Our Story

Ethan Kopelman started EK Prep in 2013. Having worked as a tutor previously, he knew that he wanted to provide a results driven company. In comparison to larger companies, he felt that a premium and personalized approach was better suited for students.

He created an experience for students that offered tailored approaches based on personality and learning style. It was also essential to build an authentic and friendly rapport with families. The ideal model is to start work with a student early for SSAT and subject tutoring. This allows a rapport to develop in preparation for the ACT/SAT years later. Most families at EK Prep follow this path. The testimonials speak to these multi-year relationships.

Even though the relationship spans years, the final piece of EK Prep’s model is efficiency. In terms of test prep, this means we achieve exceptional results with a personal approach in fewer hours. We don’t waste time. This is in comparison to larger companies that require commitment to long processes in a more generic fashion or group setting. You’ll find less tailored programs require 30 -40 hours while on average we often get desired results in 10 - 15 hours.
